Billing FAQs

Mixed Billing means some consultations are billed directly to Medicare (bulk billed), while others incur an out-of-pocket fee. This model ensures we can deliver exceptional healthcare, maintain modern facilities, and allocate sufficient time for each patient.

The following patients are eligible for bulk billing:

  • Children under 16 years old
  • Concession card holders, including pensioners and healthcare card holders

What to Bring:
Please ensure you bring your Medicare card and valid concession card to your appointment to confirm your eligibility for bulk billing.

Following patients may also be eligible for bulk billing standard consults.

The Extended Medicare Safety Net (EMSN) helps reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses for eligible patients. At HPMC, the following services are bulk billed:

  • Care Plans (GP Management Plans & Team Care Arrangements)
  • Mental Health Care Plans
  • Health Assessments
  • Heart Health Assessments
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Check
  • 45-49 Year Old Health Check
  • At-Home Medication Review

Skin Checks and Minor Procedures: Starting from $150 (depending on complexity)

Mental Health Care Plans: Fees discussed at consultation

Integrative Medicine Consultations: $180 for initial consultations (rebate may vary based on consultation type)

By combining private billing and bulk billing, we:

  • Maintain modern, state-of-the-art facilities.
  • Offer longer consultations for comprehensive and personalized care.
  • Provide access to a wide range of specialized services and experienced practitioners.

If you are privately billed, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate to reduce your out-of-pocket cost.

  • Our reception staff can assist in processing your claim electronically after your consultation.
  • The rebate will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
